Community Policy

At SwapCircles, we want to create a safe, respectful, and sustainable community for everyone. To keep our platform positive and trustworthy, all users must follow these guidelines:

What’s Not Allowed

Inappropriate content: No hate speech, harassment, abusive language, or offensive material in images or in any other content.
Unsafe or harmful activity: No threats, violence, weapons, or content that promotes harm to self or anyone else.
Fraudulent or misleading listings: No fake items, scams, solicitations or attempts to misrepresent condition or ownership.
Prohibited items: No illegal goods, stolen property, or items banned by law.
Spam: No repetitive, irrelevant, or promotional messages unrelated to SwapCircles.

Community Fundraising

Some communities on SwapCircles may choose to enable fundraising as part of their community activities. When a community has chosen to fundraise with this recirculation program, optional contributions associated with item exchanges go directly to the community organizer or a designated third-party payment account (example: PayPal, Venmo) chosen by that community.

SwapCircles does not collect, process, hold, or distribute funds, and is not a party to any payment transaction between users and community organizers.
SwapCircles does not issue tax receipts or determine tax deductibility.
Contributors should contact the community organizer with any questions related to donations, receipts, or the use of funds.

Fundraising features are intended to support community initiatives such as school programs, local events, or shared causes. Misuse of fundraising features—including misleading claims, personal profit presented as community fundraising, or violations of these guidelines—may result in removal of fundraising privileges or further action on the community under this policy.

How Moderation Works

If we learn that someone under 16 years of age is using the app, their account will be removed permanently.
Users can report inappropriate content or behavior directly through the app.
Our team reviews reports and may take appropriate action, such as removing content or suspending/removing accounts that violate these guidelines.
Repeated violations or severe violations can result in a permanent ban from the platform.

Your Responsibility

Be respectful and honest in your interactions.
Only post items that are yours to give away or trade.
Keep private, personal and sensitive information off the platform.
Report inappropriate behavior or usage.
