SwapCircles is owned and operated by KaizenLife LLC. KaizenLife, LLC. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the SwapCircles mobile application (“App”).

This service is intended for users aged 16 and above. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited information to provide and improve our services:

A. Account Authentication
When you sign in using Google or Apple, we use Firebase Authentication to verify your identity. Firebase is ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 1/2/3, GDPR, and CCPA compliant. During this process:

  • Your email address is managed by Firebase for secure sign-in.
  • The KaizenLife SwapCircles platform does not store, publicly display, or share your email address.
  • Your email address is not accessible to any other user.

B. User-Generated Content
If you upload clothing images and descriptions, this content will be visible to others on the platform. These listings may include optional details like size, material, or condition.

C. Optional Location Information
You may manually enter a meetup location of your choice to help coordinate exchanges.
We do not access your real-time GPS or background location.

D. Device & App Analytics
We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to enable push notifications. These tokens do not contain personal information and are used solely to deliver timely updates related to your activity in the app on your device. We may collect anonymized usage data (e.g., crash logs, device type) to improve performance using tools like Firebase Analytics or similar.

E. User Interests
Users may optionally select or input interest-related keywords (e.g., topics, categories) to personalize their experience and make it efficient. These inputs are help us notify availability of relevant items in community.

  • We do not store or share user associations with specific interests.
  • Interests are used internally for discovery and relevance within the app.
  • No interest data is publicly associated with user profiles.

F. Age Verification
SwapCircles is intended for users aged 16 and above.
We use an in-app age selection screen that allows users to self-declare their age bracket. Users under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 16.

Users aged 16–18 years may use the service. SwapCircles does not collect sensitive personal data, does not engage in targeted advertising, and provides the same core functionality across supported age groups.

Parents or guardians who wish to use SwapCircles with a minor may do so using their own account and device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell or monetize your data. We use your information only to:

  • Authenticate your access to the platform via Google Firebase.
  • Enable item listings and exchanges.
  • Enforce community guidelines and prevent misuse.
  • Improve discovery and user experience based on anonymized interest inputs.

3. Data Sharing & Security

  • We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising.
  • We may disclose information only if required by law (e.g., to comply with legal obligations).
  • Firebase Authentication data (e.g., email for sign-in) is stored securely by Firebase and is not accessible to other users nor used by the SwapCircles platform.
  • Your Firebase user identification token is used internally to manage your presence on the SwapCircles platform.
  • We do not share or expose user interests to third parties.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

  • You can delete item listings at any time through the app.
  • You can request complete deletion of your account by reaching out at SwapCircles Support.
  • Non-personal system data may be retained for legal and security auditing.

5. Permissions Used

  • Camera & Photos: To allow uploading clothing images for listing.
  • Internet Access: To sync listings and authenticate your sign-in.

6. Your Choices

  • You can edit or remove listings at any time.
  • You can request full account deletion from SwapCircles Support. Authentication data may remain in Firebase per Google’s policies
  • No email addresses or personal identifiers are shared publicly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app or by email, if available.
