SwapCircles is a community-powered circular consumption platform that helps schools, neighborhoods, and cultural groups recirculate quality consumer goods like clothing, books, toys to reduce spending and waste.
We are currently building a lightweight mobile-first tech platform to transform community swap events be more effective, convenient and impactful. We want to scale the infrastructure for this solution to as many communities for an impactful outcome. We plan to leverage AI to make circular consumption smarter — by surfacing relevant swap matches, community matches, improving reuse outcomes to amplify our positive environmental impact.

Progress
Pilot programs for uniform swaps and toy swaps at an elementary school in San Jose are underway. We are actively experimenting and iterating on feedback by testing various parts of the solution for both iOS and Android mobile users. The mobile app is in beta testing loop and the server side stack runs on Google Cloud. This work is combined with in-person onsite swap events to market and partner with new communities.
